Golf Operations Update


Happy Spring!  Although my allergies are saying something different, it is always a welcomed sight to see the “southern blizzard” of yellow pollen to signal the beginning of spring and the start of a busy golf season!  We are thrilled to see all the membership renewals and new members for 2023, and we would like to thank all of you for your ongoing support.  I would also like to thank everyone that participated in the 1st Member Appreciation tournament of the year!  It was a great success, and we look forward to hosting several more in the months to come.

As a reminder, a separate booking engine is available on our website under the “Members Login” tab.  Please do not use the Public booking engine to book member times.  We currently have many of our members using the member booking engine to book their tee times, and the process has gone smoothly.  All Unlimited, Pay as you Play, and Trail Card members have the ability to login in to this section and book tee times.  The first time you use the booking engine, you will need to click on the “create account” link to set up your username and password.  The login will be tied to the email that we have on file for you and must match exactly to be able to login. 

Once the account is created, each time you login you will have access to all of the tee times available during the booking window permitted for your membership type, and be able to book your desired time at the correct member rate.  Once the tee time is booked, a confirmation email will be sent with the booking information.  Any/all changes to the booked tee times will have to be made with the Pro Shop, including cancellations.  The Pro Shop can be reached by calling 910-287-1122 during normal business hours.  If there are any problems with your login, please reach out to me directly to resolve the issue. 

Please be aware that starting April 1st, the member booking window will be 7 days or less until May 31st.  Also, with the tee sheets filling up, please submit your load sheets to the Pro Shop 48 hours prior to the scheduled time.  In addition, please notify the Pro Shop of any changes to groups as soon as you are able to. 

After your round, we hope you join us in Magnolias in the Jones Byrd Clubhouse!  We offer a full-service bar, delicious soups, sandwiches, burgers and more for you to enjoy after your round.  And I would be remiss if I didn’t mention our awesome staff in Magnolias that will always make your feel right at home! 

Golf Maintenance Update

Jesse and our maintenance crew have been busy this winter working on several projects to help improve the turf conditions, as well as the general enjoyment of the golf course.   Along with our annual winter projects, there have been several applications of herbicide and fertilizer applied to help continue improving the general turf conditions.
